PASCAL BASELLI
BIOGRAPHY
Born into a musical family, PASCAL BASELLI is the grandson of Gus Viseur and son of Joss Baselli, two of France’s premier accordionists. Following an early affinity for the drums, he pursued classical percussion studies at the Conservatory of Boulogne with Michel Cals and drums with Dante Agostini. He completed his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he met and worked with many of the best young jazz musicians of his generation.
PARTICIPATIONS & PROJECTS
Returning to France he played in quartet with Laurent Cokelaere, Kalil Chahine and Bertrand Richard.
He later accompanied singers such as Renaud, Serge Reggiani, Frédéric François, Pauline Julien, Esther Phillips, Djurdjura, Karim Kacel and Peggy Lee.
He also accompanied Jacqueline Maillan for her one-woman show "J'ai deux mots à vous dire."He participated in the project "Nous gare au swing," tribute to Claude Nougaro, as well as "Jazz Manoucherie et Chansons Françaises," a retrospective on the development of jazz in France.
He has been member of the PARIS JAZZ REPERTORY QUINTET / SEPTET since its creation in 2010.
